Senior Geologist – Exploration
Qualifications & Experience:
• S1 Geologist Engineer, Minimum Four (4) years of practical experience in an exploration environment with at least three in a Supervisory capacity overseeing core shed and exploration field activities.
• Good skill English both oral and written.
• Incumbent requires a good work ethic and possess a high level of self-motivation.
Jobs Description and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Supervise the regional exploration team and drilling activities to ensure that all required technical standards are being maintained.
• Mentor and train employees to ensure high standards are developed and maintained.
• Plan, priorities and implement regional exploration drilling activities in conjunction with the Manager Regional Exploration, drilling contractor and technical geology staff as required in accordance with set priorities.
• Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of logistics to field exploration teams and drilling operations.
• Ensure employees comply with all Company rules, regulations and standards.
• Ensure all field equipment and facilities are maintained in clean and working order.
• Ensure supplies of samples bags, core trays and other consumable items are well stocked.
• Ensure daily records are kept of field and core processing activities.
• Supervise the project core shed teams to ensure that all required technical standards are being maintained.
• Ensure all core shed equipment and facilities are maintained in clean and working order.
• Ensure supplies of samples bags, core trays and other consumable items are well stocked.
• Oversee ore recovery, marking, cutting and sampling and core photography.
• Ensure accurate daily records are kept of core processing activities.
• Provide field supervision in support of exploration activities.
• Mentor and train employees to ensure high technical standards are developed and maintained.
• Plan, implement and direct day to day work activities for the team.
• Work with the Principal Geologists Porphyry and Oxide to ensure work activities are consistent with the Department s priorities.
• Organize and prepare reports as required.
